Seventh-day Adventist Education

Olive Junior Academy (Merced Adventist School)

The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6 to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Seventh-day Adventists believe this whole-heartedly--education is a very important part of bringing up children.  This is the reason why the Seventh-day Adventist church has a vast educational system--the largest protestant school system in the world, and the reason why Olive Junior Academy exists.

Olive Junior Academy has long been a vital part of the Adentist church 's educational system in Merced.  Sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Olive Junior Academy offers quality education to elementary school age children in grades K-4. Olive Junior Academy is NOT for Seventh-day Adentist children alone, but is open to anyone who is interested in quality, biblically-based Christian education. Children of all ethnicities or relgious persuasions are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Merced Adventist School (previous name of school) closed in the summer of 2010, with the possibility of re-opening for 2011-2012, which did not hpappen.  On March 30, 2014, the church met in a business session and it was decided to re-open the school for the 2014-1015 academic year for Kindergarten through fourth grade under the name "Olive Junior academy." This ended up not coming to fruition either.
